Now this time is drawing to an end, And it may be a long time before I can see you again. So I will give you this, so that, at least for a time, You will still be mine, Now that I am gone.

I gave you my heart on a platter, But you sat there and let it shatter. You weren't even kind enough to do this to my face, Which adds more to the pain I now face. I saw you there, sitting near that fence Just in your own world, reading under that dieing tree. The wind moving your hair at its will Yet you focus on the pages still.
